Baptisms at St Wilfrid’s

Also known as a Christening (there’s no difference between the two), baptism is open to everyone – from newborn babies to adults. It can take place during a regular Sunday service or in a separate, more private ceremony if preferred.

Baptism marks the beginning of a lifelong journey with God – a special moment where we respond to His love and step into the Christian faith, supported by the church and wider community.

The good news is that a christening service at St Wilfrid’s is completely free of charge. While there may be costs for things like a family gathering, christening outfits, or gifts, the church service itself is always free.

If you’re thinking about baptism for yourself or your child, we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch with the Reverend, a member of the Ministry Team, or our Church Administrator.

We’ll guide you through what’s involved and help you plan a service that’s personal, meaningful, and welcoming.
